The message of this propaganda poster is to raise money for the soldiers so they can get paid, have artillery, and to pay for food. The secondary reason this was used, was to get more men in the war thinking that they would be paid $500 000, that is why they put this poster up. The target audience for this poster is men wanting to go to war and rich people to donate to the army so they can win the war. The techniques that are used in this poster is visual appeal, emotional appeal, and patriotism.

I agree with your primary reason this poster was made - to raise money to pay for the war, but I disagree with your secondary reason. I can't believe that anyone signing up for the war would have thought they were going to make $500 000.
ReplyDeleteI like that you used the terminology talked about in class (visual appeal, emotional appeal and patriotism). I think it is especially patriotism the way they issue it like a challenge - see if Canada can raise it in three days!
