Winnipeg General Strike

In 1919 the Winnipeg General Strike was one of the most influential strikes in Canadian history. The General strike had a big impact on Canadian identity because, it showed that as Canadians we can take care of our own matters, without any help from the British. It also showed some improvement on Canadian identity because of the unions that were created to strengthen their bargaining ability.

  1. I agree, "the Winnipeg General Strike was one of the most influential strikes in Canadian history." I think it shows the beginning of one of our biggest characteristics - the idea that we need to stick together and work together.
